@180DegreeMason Dude, TAS means Tool Assisted Speedrun. That means a REAL person used tools to create checkpoints, slow the game to 1/4 speed, and do pretty much anything to make the game play easier and to defeat the enemies "faster" when it's played? back and recorded in realtime.

Here's my final attempt at New Game Single Session Mega Man 9 speed running. With the recent attempt by Satoryu, I'm not going after the record for SS running any more. I had fun while doing this, but I've got plenty of other things to do. Plus I never really intended to do this run anyways. Maybe that's why I sucked so bad. Oh well. Enjoy this. I'm sure the majority of people that bought it are older, but the younger generations are still playing it none-the-less. You have to remember, all of those people in their 20s & 30s are having kids and introducing these gems to them. I know there are plenty of younger kids that cherish NES and SNES games just like I do, because even though they were born after me, they still grew up playing? them. It's like Classical music, none of us was around for it, yet Beethoven & Mozart is still beloved.

It's not really rigged in the conventional sense. It was a tool assisted speed-run. It took the guy who made it days to do. The original upload,back in the days before youtube, had full details on just how many days this took to make. There is a whole community who do tool-assisted runs, it's not meant to be a legit gameplay vid. Re: the wrench, look closely and you'll see him just narrowly go around and over it. These guys place saves every? few secs to achieve the impossible.

It's not perfect, at 2:07 you can do a great cut. You need to grab a pistol from the table and shoot the glass which is one floor higher than the one you jumped on 2:07. Then make a? vertical wall run in front of a this broken glass and jump 180. voila, you just saved 22 seconds.

This is not the original quake. I can easily tell from the graphics. In those days such smooth graphics were not even available. Another proof is the bar. This was not available in 1996 but came much later with Quake 3 Tournament. So an engine which clearly editted the default jumping distance and enhanced the graphics was used in these games. Just? check the original (1996) version of the game. In this regard, this cannot be an official speedrun.

I totally one hundred and one? percent agree with you. Kids these days don't even know much about PC's or computers in general. All they know is; XBOX360, CoD and fapping, its just damn pathetic. Contra, easily one of the most popular NES games. I haven't played it in a long time until just a few days ago, when me and a friend started playing. I decided to do a speed run and here it is :D. Slipped a couple times in stage 3 and in stage 7 Should have skipped the B as it took too long and I really didn't need it. Oh well, enjoy.

That warp trick only boosts you up two screens or so, and is considered legit for speed running this game. It saves less time than skipping the level 1 sword, which is definitely not intended to be possible. There is another glitch in level 5, and i think one in 10 as? well.
